Keith St John Q & A: Jul-1999 Japan Tour

Jul-1999: Japan Tour Keith St John

01. What are you thinking of when you're playing on the stage?
Sometimes on stage unexpected musical or physical events may occur and they can be distracting but as a frontman I would say the majority of extraneous thoughts remain block out of my head since I'm locked into the moment of each song and it's meaning and the audiences sense of it during delivery.
02. What the reaction from the crowd at the lives makes you happy?
When the song and/or the visual experience is evoking an overall emotional change in the crowd or if I sense they are understanding my emotional relationship with the song then I'm doing my job.
03. Were there any nice surprising reactions from the fans at the lives?
Yes, The audience was very receptive to the "cover tunes" which was a nice surprise.
04. If you hadn't been in a band, what kind of job would you do?
and could you be a specific for the reason.
Probably an inventor, engineer, physicistor, business owner. This typs of things are challenging to me.
05. What does "Smooth Locomotion" mean? I couldn't find my dictionary.
Good Sex
06. Please tell us about Brooklyn.
Well I never really lived there much after being one year old. so I don't know everything about it but it's kind of busy, like Tokyo except there's alot more Italians!
07. You said the Burning Rain fan club issued that "If I could stand LA people". What offends you?
I'm not so sure that the phrase you're quoting in context meant I was "offended" but let me say this in the U.S. attitudes and customs tend to differ heavily from West to East coast and North to South. N.Y. city is much closer in attitude to Tokyo than lets say Texas!
08. What brand of the hair conditioner is your favourite? Why are you particular about the hair conditioner? Is it a hair rinse or a hair treatment?
I use NIOXIN triple bonding reconstractor for the top, sides, and back, and K.M.S Strategy Reconstractor for the front in the shower and rinse them out. Then after the shower I apply L'anza's Rebalance ( a leave-in conditioner) to the ends.
09. What is the vogue of your own at the moment?
If you mean what is my current fashion trend I'd have to say understanding, Peace, and Love for all. Please, Thank you.
10. What would you do if the great king of the fear had fallen down the sky?
I would not fear for I know truly in my heart that I am good!
11. If you won National lottery, waht would you use for?
I need New shoes! But maybe I could just get my old ones re-soled.
12. What food are yiu good at cooking? Please tell me the recipe.
Shabu-Shabu or BBQ. - I think you already know the recipe.
13. Would you describe your self as an animal? and please tell us the reason why.
Maybe a LION or TIGER. I am very independent minded and at the same time I'm very kinetic ( connected to the physical world). I also feel in control of my own destiny and must chew up those who try to shoot me down.
14. Would you describe your self as a color, and why?
At certain times I could be described as a colour but most of the time as a few colours at once or many colours, the hues and intensities of which are always shifting with levels of energy, moods, and emotion.
15. Do you like "Austin Powers" ?
Yes very much. Both the movie and the character are tres shagadelic! Oh behave baby, Dr. Evil is so Far Out it's making me Horny Baby!
16. How was the JAPAN Tour?
The JAPAN Tour was totally awesome. I love my fans very much. They are cool. It was really fun to play live with Doug and to also learn more about the Japanese culture. Osaka and the Bullet Train were both new experience for me. I got some new clothes and jewelery in Osaka which is reallly groovy baby. People have all been very hospitable towards me and the rest of the band and gave us a very positive overall experience.
17. Please give a message to your fans.
I want to let everyone know that Doug and I are beginning to work on our next record for Japan and that we'll be more polished and rocking even harder for the next tour as "Burning Rain" grows as a band and we reinforce and capitalize on our strong points. The listeners, interviewers, and audience reactions have taught us alot and I am so glad that so many people have expressed interest in us, and my message is as always for everyone to always seek the higher truth, realize what the real love in your life is, and to Rock Hard 4-ever with Burning Rain!
