Hard Roxx: 1999 #42

Apparently the once godlike Bad Moon Rising is no 'mo. Vocal bastion Kal Swan is crooning away at jingles on the westcoast of the States and Doug Aldrich is left to satisfy the lunchbox crowd! Well, Doug, has not let us down and has recruited one killer vocal sensation in the form of Keith St. John, formally of Marc Ferrari's Medicine Wheel.
For fans of the first two BMR records, this will surely send you far, far over the moon. Aldrich is firing away like never before on guitar and the songs are probably the best he has written since the secound BMR record. Check out the killer "Jungle Queen" where St.John hearkens to mind a young Percy Plant! Actually the whole record has me thinking of a 1999 version of Led Zep, only unlike a lot of the grunge rejects who try to sound like Zep did in '69, these guys have the talent make your mind imagine what Zep would have progressed to 30 years down the road. Pop on "Making My Heart Beat", and blast away and I dare you to tell me this isn't something so special. "Cherry Grove" is another incredible song that sets this record apart from all the competition.
Hopefully the once mighty Kal Swan will surface again (who could forget this classic Tytan record) but if he don't ,Doug Aldrich has a super replacement in the form of Keith St. John! Buy!!
